I finished this trio up on the solstice which felt beautifully fitting. They each feature solar quartz, crystalline shards of agatized quartz around a centre point with subtle iridescent inclusions. I didn’t want to tuck their organic edges away in a classic bezel and so they’re set in a thick open bezel crafted from reclaimed silver with securing prongs so as not to hide any details. A cut out backplate allows the light to shine through, creating little luminescent sunbursts when held to the light. Complete with fine sterling chain with trigger clasp, each is made up to 18” so it sits just below the collar line.
I wanted to create something talismanic. Whilst our external world is in such chaos sometimes we need a little reminder there’s still light to be found around us or by going inward. These necklaces feel symbolic of that.
For those interested in the metaphysical, solar quartz are highly protective, creating a barrier against negative influences, they are amplifiers and connect Earth, spirit and natural elements.

I create all my pieces by hand from my home studio. I favour recycled and reclaimed materials and source stones and metals as ethically as possible. I strive to create earthy, soulful pieces that will stand the test of time. As is in the nature of handmade jewellery you may find hints of the tools and techniques I use in the surface of the metal meaning there's a possibility of slight imperfections.
